Create A Free Landing Page For Your Business
Are you a new small business owner and need a Landing Page Website to help grow your business?
I have a solution you may not know about that requires ZERO website design experience and takes very little time to customize or create.
Canva is a drag and drop design tool that is free to use and comes with thousands of templates to get you started. I regularly use it for creating mockups and marketing items, so I did upgrade to the premium account, but it is not necessary to have a paid account to use most of the features.
Canva now offers a Website publishing option for your designs, which means you can create a simple landing page website that contains links, images, and publish it for free!
The website is hosted through Canva, so the drawback is that you can’t really drive organic traffic to your Canva website, but it’s a great starter solution for any new business owner needing a quick, budget friendly landing page solution.
Disclaimer: I design full, self-hosted website kits, so sharing this information with you does cut into my profit margin. It is more profitable for me to tell every business owner I come across that they need a full, self-hosted website RIGHT NOW and to buy one of my done-for-you Complete Website Kits…
…but I also understand how it feels to be a brand new business owner needing low-overhead solutions for the time being. So, I am sharing this info with you because I want you to succeed right now and know that when you are ready for that full website, you can always come back here to buy.
I also sell Canva Landing Page Templates, so check those out here if you’d like to save even more time.
Canva Website Pros & Cons
Pros
- Can be 100% Free
If you feel comfortable with your general design skills, you can easily create your own page and publish it for free.
- Affordable
If you have zero design skills and don’t feel comfortable designing your own website page, you can purchase a landing page template for around $20-$30 and publish it for free. Check out templates here.
- No Commitment
Since the website page is published in Canva and is hosted by Canva, you can change it up anytime and/or abandon it completely to upgrade to a full self-hosted website
- Low Risk/High ROI (return on investment)
If you are just starting out, it can be hard to take the leap into purchasing a full website or even finding the time to design your own free Wix or Weebly website. Canva websites are very low risk and can give you an instant return on investment by helping you to book more clients or attract more customers using your social media platforms or business cards.
- Quick and Easy
Your new Canva website can be published in just a few minutes if you purchase a template and already have some Canva experience. But even those who have zero experience in Canva can quickly publish a template using my free Canva tutorials and guides.
Cons
- Not Self-Hosted
Self-hosting means you pay for your own hosting through a company like Bluehost and you pick your own website address. (ex:yourbusiness.com). With Canva, you get a canva link for your website, but you can shorten it in bitly.com for free. (ex: canva.com/design/ajhdajkdhjdhakdjajdh shortened to bitly.com/hy579. You can also pay to shorten your bitly link using a title of your choice. ex: bitly.com/yourbiz
- No Organic Traffic
Not having a self-hosted website means you aren’t able to get organic traffic to your Canva website. What is Organic Traffic? It’s when you type in a search term in your favorite search engine and then click on a website you find in the results. So, if someone was searching for “really good cheesecakes in city, state”, and you sell cheesecakes in that city and state, your canva website won’t come up in the results.
If you don’t need organic traffic and rely heavily on social media traffic, then this won’t matter much to you at this point.

How To Create A Website Using Canva
The first thing you need to do is create a free Canva Account to get started.
Create Your Design
Canva does not currently have any pre-made Website templates available in their library, so you will need to create your own design or purchase a template from a designer.
If you’ve never used Canva before, I have tutorials on my support page, just click the button below
Publish Your Canva Website
If you purchased a Canva Website Template, it may consist of multiple Canva design pages. But when you publish the design as a website, it will appear as a continuous one page website.
The Canva link for your website will be a bit long, so you can shorten it in Bitly.com for free and use that link in your Instagram profile, on your business cards, on your Facebook page, and more.
Share Your Website
Once your Canva Website is published, you can share your website with your clients/customers on your social media or business cards.
So, now what…?
